I personally would recommend you to only go through a personal provider who is representing your interests. First of all, that may mean that you don't have to participate in the process at all except for dealing with your attorney or your CPA. Second of all, I just think it’s not very advisable to be in a situation where you're alone answering questions that you might not even really know the answer to. So definitely take that very seriously and get the help you need if you find that you're in an audit.
